Wet Plant Logic. What kind of name is that for a blog?
Well for starters, in the aquatic plants hobby you’ll be hard pressed to find decent domain names available with words like “aquatic” or “plants” or “garden” in them. Or any of number of other good nouns and adjectives. They are all being held by people that have bought the name and “parked” it, hoping someone will pay for it.
This name might be OK. It conveys a lot about what I hope this blog will be about. It will certainly be about the hobby of keeping aquatic plants - wet plants. But more the important word is logic.
I’m a hobbyiest. And my professionial and personal background does very little helping me understand of this hobby. And it’s not a simple hobby to be successful at. So as I try to separate the wheat from the chaff in the huge volumes of conflicting planted tanks information out there, what tool do I use?
Logic.
Simply applying common sense to the hobby makes a difference. So what does that mean? First, not taking anything at face value - questioning all hobby related information. Second, looking for proof. And when you can’t get what you feel is solid proof, use the best available information. Third, taking a systematic approach to problem solving. And finally, documenting what you do. It will seem like a waste of time as you do it, but when you are trying to figure out what the heck is going on in your tank, you’ll be AMAZED at what reveiwing your records will teach you.
So Wet Plant Logic it is.
Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully soon there’ll be some information here that you find useful or amusing as you pursue your own aquatic gardening hobby. And maybe you’ll even be able to remember this goofy website name. I hope.
